Online Activities

As we see the opportunities and need for more online spiritual growth, Pastor Carla will offer two different new weekly opportunities.

At 11am on Wednesdays, I invite you to a Virtual Prayer and Anointing Service via ZOOM. Because I hope to invite participants to offer their own prayers, we’ll use a ZOOM format. You can log on or call in for this prayer and anointing service.

At 7pm on Wednesdays, I invite you to a midweek check-in, called “What’s Up, UIF?” Each week will have a different theme (see below for details). Two weeks are focused on Bible or Bible study, and the other two are meant to connect us to one another and the community.

11am every Wednesday (Virtual) Prayer Around the Cross & Anointing Service (via ZOOM) – July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (and so on)

Prepare your prayer space at home with a cross and a vessel of oil (could be a capful or small bowl of olive oil, grapeseed oil, canola oil, or an essential oil blend). If desired, light a candle in your prayer space. Pastor Carla will lead the virtual prayer and anointing, and you are invited to offer your own prayers later in the service.  This service is designed to be a short thirty minute prayer service only.

7-8pm each Wednesday: What’s Up, UIF? (Weekly Midweek ZOOM)

July 1, 2020 (Week 1): Bible Questions (submit questions to – this time, Pastor Carla will do a simple Bible overview (what’s where, how do I find my way around).

July 8, 2020 (Week 2): Hymn Sing (could invite one of our musicians to play from home). Bring your red ELW hymnal and join us (we’ll sing muted, besides the song leader, so the sound delay won’t mess us up).

July 15, 2020 (Week 3): Bible Study on Philippians – St. Paul wrote this letter from a very painful and difficult time, as he was in prison. What does he have to say to us today? (Bible study will continue in future months.)

July 22, 2020 (Week 4): Community Spotlight of non-profits in the area of UIF (could invite guest speaker) – this time we’ll share some details about St. Cyprian’s Food Pantry.

July 29, 2020 (Week 5): Show and Tell (bring something to the computer to share with the rest of the group). (Examples: a flower, a book you’re enjoying, a picture on a card you received, a homegrown tomato, food you made, or a piece of furniture you built, a drawing you made.)
