"New Life for Old Bags"
(NLOB) is a collaboration of folks of all ages and abilities making
sleeping mats for the homeless out of used plastic bags. NLOB is
intergenerational and green. The mats are distributed by Cornerstone
Community Outreach in Uptown.
On the first Saturday of every month, from 10:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m., volunteers for NLOB meet at United in Faith to
create plarn, role it into balls and create mats. All are
welcome to participate. Similiar work days are held at
Bethesda Home, 2833 N. Nordica Ave., every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m.
