The challenges facing families and seniors are many and difficult. What a community of faith can offer to individuals and families is a place of community and connection. This place boldly offers a vision and a set of values to guide all people through life's journey. God is with us and I know that God is with you to!"
Born 1972 Iowa City, IA Education 1990-1994 Graduate of Oklahoma State University, B.A. Music, OK Community Service 1990-Current Private music teacher - piano and oboe1997-1998 Taught General Music, K-8, Pawnee Elementary School, Pawnee, OK 2000-2007 Accredited Lactation Counselor 2002-2005 Certified Doula (professional Labor/Birth assistant) 2004-2005 K-6 Music Teacher, Live Oak Classical School, Waco, TX Ministerial Service 1989-2005 Various service positions in OK and TX2005 Clinical Pastoral Education, Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Waco, TX 2006-2007 Seminary Field Education, Bethany Lutheran, Chicago, IL 2007-2008 Intern, United in Faith Lutheran Church, Chicago, IL My favorite miracle of Jesus is the raising of Jairus' daughter in Mark 5: "While he was still speaking, some people came from the leader's house to say, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher any further?" But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, "Do not fear, only believe." This passage speaks to me when I am faced with situations that seem hopeless, or problems that I just can't solve on my own. The words and actions of Jesus in Mark 5 remind me that we are not to be afraid. When all seems hopeless, we can hope in Jesus Christ and his saving grace. In those moments when I'm weighed down with fear and unbelief, Jesus seems to be speaking directly to me: "Talitha Cum! Little girl, get up!"
